A liquor store owner told police the shoplifter had a $15 bottle of vodka hidden in his pants.
YARMOUTH, MA — A customer at a Yarmouth liquor store helped detain a shoplifter until officers arrived, police said. Officers were called to the store on Route 28 around 10 p.m. Wednesday and found two men who were involved with the attempted theft of a $15 bottle of vodka, police said.
One of the men was drunk and had the bottle hidden in the front of his pants, the store owner told police. A customer was helping detain him, police said.
That man, 28-year-old Brett Geddis, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. He was released on $40 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Barnstable District Court.
