Disc Golf League Taking Flight in Marston Mills

Cape Cod Disc Golf Club deserves credit for taking care of Burgess Park disc golf course and creating a family-friendly environment to hurl discs.

 

The 2013 disc golf season is well under way at Burgess Park in Marston Mills (449 Route 149). According to the Cape Cod Disc Golf Club’s Facebook page, for the past ten weeks, club members have convened at the park on Tuesday evenings for some healthy disc throwing competition and camaraderie.

This year, several of the holes at the Burgess Park disc golf course have changed significantly, providing both seasoned and amateur disc throwers with a variety of new challenges on the “chain links.” Specifically, league members and volunteers have:

  • Moved multiple baskets and re-arranged the course layout
  • Created a new Hole #7 (to the left of the Hole #6 basket)
  • Installed a new Hole #6 tee pad (to the right of the Hole #5 basket)
  • Installed a new Hole #6 basket (approximately 60 feet behind the former location)

In addition to making numerous significant infrastructure improvements to the disc golf course, club members have done their part to clean up winter storm debris and keep the park clean.
