Dolphin Stranded On Cape Cod Beach Dies

ORLEANS, MA – A dolphin stranded on a Cape Cod beach died before a rescue team could respond to the scene. Police found the mammal Sunday morning near Nauset Beach in Orleans and reported it to the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

An officer at the IFAW told media outlets the organization attempted to save the dolphin, but it was dead by the time the rescue team arrived.

A necropsy of the dolphin will be performed.
