Downed Wire Closes Marstons Mills Road

BARNSTABLE, MA — The nor'easter continues to pose problems for Barnstable locals, as now a section of road is closed due to a downed wire.

Barnstable police announced that Race Lane to Old Mill Road in Marstons Mills is closed until further notice due to an energized, downed wire.

"Please avoid this area," police said.

Strong winds and blowing snow continue to make conditions hazardous for drivers and tricky for snow plow operators.

Additionally, town officials said, a number of other trees and downed limbs have been reported, as have other downed wires.
