Driver Seriously Injured In Cape Cod Crash
The driver involved in a crash on Route 6 in Yarmouth needed to be extricated from his truck and flown to a hospital for treatment.
YARMOUTH, MA — A driver involved in a crash on Route 6 in Yarmouth needed to be removed from their vehicle with the jaws of life on Tuesday, Yarmouth fire officials said.
On Tuesday, fire officials from Yarmouth and Barnstable alongside Massachusetts State Police officers responded to a wooded area on Route 6 eastbound just before exit 72.
The driver involved in the single-car crash suffered serious injuries and required multiple "Jaws of Life extrication tools" to be removed from the vehicle. Officials said the process took over an hour.

Once removed from the car, the driver was transported to Cape Cod Gateway Airport by Barnstable fire officials to be transferred to a trauma center via a Boston MedFlight helicopter.
