Driver Suffers Life-Threatening Injury In Cape Cod Crash

EASTHAM, MA — A person is fighting for their life after suffering serious injuries in a two-car crash on Route 6 in Eastham.

Police said the crash happened around 8:30 p.m., Sunday, in front of the Brickhouse Restaurant. Officer Jacob McGrath was on patrol in the area and came upon the crash. Police said he found a Toyota RAV4 and a Kia Telluride in the road, both with heavy damage.

The person driving the Toyota suffered life-threatening injuries, so police began life-saving medical treatment, until an ambulance arrived and brought the driver to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

The other driver suffered less severe injuries, according to police. Police did not release either drivers' names.

A police crash reconstruction team looked over the scene and determined the Toyota was in a private driveway before entering Route 6 and ended up in the patch of the Kia.

Route 6 was closed and detoured in both directions for about two hours while police investigated the crash.
