Drug And Gun Charges Follow 'Lengthy' Cape Cod Investigation
Two men face charges ranging from firearms possession to drug trafficking. An arraignment was scheduled for Thursday.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Two men face multiple drug and firearms charges after an investigation by the Barnstable Police Department Narcotics Unit, officials said.
On Wednesday, 24-year-old Vachon Leonard, of South Yarmouth, and 31-year-old Tyre Wade, of Roxbury were arrested on drug trafficking and firearms possession charges.
Members of the Barnstable Police Department Narcotics Unit, Detective Unit, Patrol Force, Cape Cod Regional SWAT Team, and Drug Enforcement Administration Cape Cod Resident Office executed warrants on Leonard, Wade and a residence in Hyannis, officials said.

Those warrants resulted in the seizure of 59 bags of crack cocaine with a combined weight of over 66 grams, packaging material and a scale, one firearm, nine rounds of ammunition and a large sum of cash, police said.
Leonard was held on $5,000 cash bail and Wade was held on $3,000 cash bail. They were both scheduled to be arraigned at Barnstable District Court on Thursday.

Leonard is charged with:
- Distribution of a class B substance
- Cocaine trafficking (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams)
- Conspiracy to violate drug laws
- Possession of a firearm without an FID card
- Possession of ammunition without an FID card
Wade is charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle after suspension
- Distribution of class B substance
- Cocaine trafficking (18 grams or more, less than 36 grams)
- Conspiracy to violate drug laws
