Drunken Cape Cod Man Hit Car, Threatened Officers: Police
The 50-year-old was arrested after crashing into a pickup truck on Route 28 Sunday night, police said.

YARMOUTH, MA – A Cape Cod man was drunk when he crashed into a pickup truck and became aggressive with responding officers, police said. Police were called to Route 28 around 8:30 p.m. after an SUV was seen driving "all over the road" and stopping in the middle of the street, according to Yarmouth police.
Responding officers saw the SUV collide with a blue Chevy Avalanche while trying to take a left turn onto Route 28 eastbound, police said. The Chevy went up onto the curb after it was hit, and the other truck continued eastbound on Route 28, according to police.
When the SUV stopped, the driver, 50-year-old Brendan Murphy, allegedly told officers he did not realize he hit another car or that police were trying to pull him over. Murphy, of South Yarmouth, smelled like alcohol, had glassy and bloodshot eyes and slurred and mumbled speech, police said.
