What began as a course elective in Ornithology has become a life-long hobby and part of his job for the last 5 years. Join Chris in the exploration of the Class Aves, as birds that were "just birds" become recognizable and familiar. For the beginning birder - will include the identification and classification of North American Birds. See how exciting it can become in your own backyard as you learn how their biology and their behaviors throughout the year can help you attract birds you may have never seen before! Subtopics will include Nestboxes, Feeders, Bird Myths, and Bird Conservation. Participants of the course will receive a voucher that can be exchanged for free admission to any Mid-Upper Cape Sanctuaries Bird Walk or Educational Bird Program, or a $10.00 discount off a Birding Trip to Cuttyhunk in 2011. Recommended book: Peterson Field Guide to Eastern Birds, though any Guide to North American Birds will suffice.

Four  sessions: Wednesdays, Feb 2nd thru Feb 23rd
