The Marstons Mills Public Library is beginning a new program series. On the second Wednesday of each month at 4:30 pm, we will feature a travel talk by a member of our community who has journeyed to an interesting destination.
Join us for the first program! On Wednesday, October 10, Dr. David Martin will discuss South Africa – its culture, geography, wildlife, and also some of the political and economic issues facing the country.
Dr. Martin is an educator who taught at Gallaudet University for 21 years and was the Dean of its School of Education for ten years. In ‘retirement,’ he teaches and consults for the Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment Program, a program designed to help teachers develop cognitive skills in their students. In this capacity, he is an adjunct professor at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, and he regularly visits South Africa to give workshops in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town. Occasionally he has time to visit game parks and other natural wonders of the country.
