Local residents Kathy McShane and Ted Lowrie have taken the trip of a lifetime to Tanzania and the Serengeti. The vast plains of the Serengeti comprise 1.5 million hectares of savannah. The annual migration to permanent water holes of vast herds of herbivores (wildebeest, gazelles and zebras), followed by their predators, is one of the most impressive natural events in the world. Join us for a delightful evening of description, photos and videos.
Kathy is a retired special education teacher, and Ted was a financial services specialist. They have lived on the Cape for four years, and have been building their home in Barnstable and volunteering with various non-profit organizations on the Cape, including lecturing about their trip to classes at the Academy for Lifelong Learning.
