Two Muslim women who have become world famous for their diametrically opposed political views, Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Aafia Siddiqui offer a striking study in the tendentious issue of Islamic women’s rights and the place of women in the Islamic jihad against Western secular liberalism. Award-winning international journalist and Cape resident Deborah Scroggins will discuss her new book, Wanted Women: Faith, Lies and the War on Terror, which offers a comprehensive dual biography of these two women who, despite their divergent ideological paths, share similarities in their backgrounds, age, intelligence, and education. This talk is free, but registration is requested. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
