Ex-Trump Lawyer Takes On Sharks (Real Ones) In Cape Cod Op-Ed
John Dowd railed against the "glorification" of sharks in a letter to the Cape Cod Chronicle.

CHATHAM, MA – Move over, Robert Mueller. Former Trump lawyer John Dowd has a new target in his sights: great white sharks.
Dowd, who resigned from Trump's legal team in March, penned a letter to the Cape Cod Chronicle late last month arguing for the regular harvesting of seals to prevent sharks from creeping closer to the Cape's beaches. According to the Boston Globe, Dowd and his wife are listed as trustees of a $2.2 million home in Chatham.
"The glorification of these dangerous predators in Chatham is reckless and a threat to the future of this beautiful community," Dowd wrote. Read the full letter here.

Once Trump's lead lawyer in the special counsel's Russia investigation, Dowd left earlier this year amid a shake-up of the president's legal team. Dowd was apprehensive about Trump speaking with Mueller, despite the president publicly claiming he was eager to do so.
According to Bob Woodward's new book, "Fear," about the Trump White House, Dowd warned Trump not to testify because "it's either that or an orange jumpsuit."

He may have a tough time winning his case against sharks, too. Seals are a protected species under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, making it illegal to hunt them, the Globe reported.
