'Explosion' Results In Eastham Basement Fire, Department Says
The Eastham Fire Department responded to a fire on Saturday that residents said started with an "explosion."
EASTHAM, MA — A set of Ridge Road tenants safely evacuated their home after an "explosion" in their basement prefaced a fire, Eastham Fire Department officials said.
The department responded to an address on Ridge Road around 8:15 p.m. on reports of a basement fire. Tenants told responding crews that an "explosion" came from the basement, which was followed by smoke alarms.
Crews entered the building and found a "well involved" fire that they were able to quickly extinguish, officials said.
