Flower Angels Deliver 40,000th Bouquet
Volunteers dedicated to relieving loneliness deliver bouquets of repurposed flowers to elderly residents across Cape Cod since 2014.

Since 2014, community senior volunteers and adults with disabilities work hand-in-hand every week to repurpose flowers which have been generously donated by supermarkets, families, brides and corporations. On Monday November 12th, Flower Angels USA founder Suzanne Carter delivered the 40,000th bouquet to a Veteran at Seashore Point in Provincetown, the nursing home where she dutifully visited her mother every day for 2 years and had the vision to start Flower Angels USA.
“It has been an amazing week filled with love and gratitude for our Veterans,” Carter said. “Our hearts were overflowing with emotion as my daughter, Mara, friend Joyce and I delivered bouquets to 41 Seashore Point residents and Veterans in honor of my WW II Veteran Dad, Stanley “Pidge” Carter. Nearly 5 years ago I made the first delivery to Seashore Point to honor my Mom’s memory. It was our delight to deliver the 40,000th bouquet to Gerard Potvin, a wonderful WW II Veteran resident who loved serving his country and was ecstatic to receive the milestone bouquet.”
Upon recieving the 40,000th bouquet, Potvin said “I was proud to serve our country. The flowers are just beautiful and you made my day feel very special.”

Flower Angels USA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to spreading love and relieving loneliness by repurposing donated flowers into bouquets which are cheerfully delivered to residents and patients in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and in-home hospice care patients across Cape Cod. Studies show that 85% of the residents in nursing homes rarely see a visitor, while 60% have never had a visitor. Thus small gestures can often bring incredible joy, surprise, and warmth into someone’s life, and on the days when they need it most.
For the 3rd Annual Veterans Buddy Project, volunteers were joined by 54 veterans and active duty Coast Guard to deliver nearly 400 patriotic bouquets to veterans from Falmouth to Provincetown. Monday marked the final day of the Project which culminated in the delivery of the 40,000th bouquet created since the organization's inception in 2014.
