Football Schedule 2021: See Who Barnstable High Faces This Fall

BARNSTABLE, MA — High school football's return is back to normal this fall in Massachusetts. Following a season that was postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and moved to the spring of 2021, the Barnstable Red Hawks are back on the gridiron this fall.

This will also be the first season Barnstable plays as the Red Hawks, after ditching the Red Raiders name. Native Americans and activists had long considered, the high school's former mascot an offensive name and logo. High school art students will create the new Red Hawks logo.

The Red Hawks' regular season begins Friday, when the team heads to Old Rochester Regional High School to face off against the Bull Dogs. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. See the full Barnstable football schedule below:

• Week 1: 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 10, at Old Rochester
• Week 2: 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, at Reading Memorial
• Week 3: 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 24 vs. Bridgewater-Raynham
• Week 4: 7 p.m., Friday, Oct., 1 at Durfee
• Week 5: 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 8, at New Bedford
• Week 6: 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, at Nauset Regional
• Week 7: 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22, vs. Dennis-Yarmouth
