HYANNIS, MA — A Hyannis building on the State Register of Historic Places has a new lease on life. The railroad roundhouse, which is currently owned by Hy-Line Cruises, backed out of its plan to raze the building, according to the Cape Cod Times.

The 118-year-old building was the longtime home of Pufferbellies nightclub. Hy-Line said it withdrew its application for demolition in order to work with various parties to see if preservation is possible, the Times reported.

The request to demolish was set to go before the Hyannis Main Street Waterfront Historic District Commission on Wednesday. The property serves as an off-site parking lot for ferry passengers.
