Hit-and-Run Suspect Wanted in Orleans

A driver fled after striking a pedestrian who suffered "major" leg injuries, Orleans police said.

ORLEANS, MA — Orleans police said a driver over the weekend hit a pedestrian on Main Street then took off.

The suspect was described as a white male driving a dark or gray four-door sedan, which will likely have damage to the hood and windshield. Anyone with information is asked to call Orleans police at 508-255-0117.

Police said the crash happened Saturday at about 5:30 p.m. near Lewis Road. The pedestrian, a male, hit the windshield then was tossed in the air, police said, adding he suffered “major” leg injuries.

The victim told police the driver exited his car and asked if he was OK. The victim said, “No, I’m hurt,” but the driver ran back into his car and fled.
