HopeHealth Announces New Program for Children and Teens Experiencing Loss

Hope Camp for Kids is designed for children ages 6-17 who have experienced a loss three months to two years prior to the date of the camp.

HopeHealth announced a new program for children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or loved one. This inspiring one-day program is designed to:

· Break the isolation children and teens feel after loss

· Introduce peers who can personally relate to their loss

· Provide professional therapeutic services

· Teach healthy coping skills for managing grief in daily life

Hope Camp for Kids is designed for children ages 6-17 who have experienced a loss three months to two years prior to the date of the camp. In addition to camp activities, campers will attend age-based support groups where they will be given the opportunity to talk about their experience and receive support and validation from kids their own age.

“Our mission to serve all who need us extends to young people too,” said David Rehm, president & CEO of HopeHealth. “Through Hope Care for Kids, we provide services to enhance the lives of children with life-limiting illness, grief or loss. In September, we are offering this new program called Hope Camp for Kids for children in the community. We hope to expand it throughout our service area in 2015.”
