Hyannis Burglary Suspect Tried Suffocating Woman: Police
A Yarmouth man was arrested after he was found hiding in a bathtub in the group home.

HYANNIS, MA – The suspect in an attempted burglary at a Hyannis group home tried to suffocate one of the residents, according to police. Officers responded to the home on Main Street around 2:25 a.m. Sunday morning.
A 52-year-old woman told police she was sleeping in her third-floor bedroom when a man entered and covered her nose and mouth with his hand, police said. She screamed and he fled to the first floor, which had no exit.
Officers found the man, later identified as 29-year-old Cristian Lema, of Yarmouth, hiding in a bathtub. He was arrested and charged with armed burglary - assault on an occupant and strangulation or suffocation.

Lema was released on $500 cash bail and is due to appear in Barnstable District Court on Monday.
