Hyannis Drug Sting: 3 Fentanyl Dealers Arrested, Police Say

Barnstable police charged Jason McCarthy, Jennifer Boucher and Brian Whittemore with trafficking fentanyl.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Three fentanyl dealers were arrested this week in Hyannis after a months-long, undercover police investigation, authorities announced Friday. Arrested were:

  • Brian Whittemore, 56, of Hyannis
  • Jason McCarthy, 37, of New Bedford
  • Jennifer Boucher, 43, of New Bedford

All were charged with trafficking fentanyl. Boucher was also charged with trafficking crack cocaine.

Police said Whittemore, a "long-time" heroin trafficker, sold drugs out of his Skating Rink Road residence in Hyannis. Undercover agents made several purchases at the location, police said, adding McCarthy was Whittemore's supplier.

"Detectives began following McCarthy on a daily basis and learned that he was routinely delivering the fentanyl to Whittemore on the Cape," Barnstable police said in a statement.

On Wednesday, officers said they saw the trio meet in the area of Route 132, conduct a drug transaction, then drive off. They were arrested and police said they found 11 grams of fentanyl on Whittemore, $900 on McCarthy and three bags of crack cocaine on Boucher.
