Hyannis Fire Awarded $17K Coronavirus Grant

The department will use the money for powered air purifying respirators.

HYANNIS, MA — The Hyannis Fire Department was awarded a $13,702 Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security's Office of Grants and Research.

The grant was part of the $9.6 million in funding that Baker-Politio Administration allocated to help local and state public safety agencies purchase additional resources to further aid in the prevention, preparation for and/or response to COVID-19 pandemic.

The department will use the money for powered air purifying respirators.

Municipalities were eligible to receive up to $50,000 in individual funding. In total, 65 fire departments and 44 police departments representing 94 cities and towns received CESFP awards.
