Hyannis Heroin Trafficker Arrested At Stop & Shop: Cops
Police said Gilver Jimenez was found with nearly 90 grams of heroin and cocaine in the Yarmouth Stop & Shop parking lot.

YARMOUTH, MA — A cocaine and heroin trafficker from Hyannis was arrested Monday night in the parking lot of the Yarmouth Stop & Shop, according to police. Gilver Jimenez, 29, was found with 56.5 grams of cocaine and 32.4 grams of heroin, police said. He was charged with trafficking heroin and trafficking cocaine, both felonies.
Officers said they encountered Jimenez at about 10:40 p.m. in the parking lot of the Yarmouth Stop & Shop on Long Pond Drive. (Sign up for free daily newsletters and breaking news alerts from Barnstable Patch.)
"The man ran off and the Officers observed him drop a corner cut bag of tan powder on the ground," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "He was quickly apprehended while Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officer Nicholas Officer Ambrosini and his drug detection K9 Gauge alerted on illegal drugs inside of the man’s vehicle."

Police said they found the cocaine and heroin packaged in seven different bags.
"The arrest of a deadly drug trafficker is vital to the safety and security of our community," police said. "The Yarmouth Police Department Command Staff commends all of the Police Officers involved in this significant arrest and investigation."

On Tuesday, Jimenez was ordered held without bail due to previous probation violations, police said.
Yarmouth police said opioid abuse has caused more than 100 overdoses in town so far this year — with 11 deaths.
