Hyannis House Fire At High School Road

BARNSTABLE, MA — A house fire broke out at High School Road near the South Street intersection Monday afternoon. Fire officials said flames could be seen inside the home when Barnstable police and Hyannis firefighters arrived at the home around 12:30 p.m.

Fire officials told the Cape Cod Times the fire was out within a half hour and no one inside the house was injured. High School Road was closed and residents were asked to stay away from the area while firefighters battled the flames.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
