A detour for some traffic on Main Street will be in place next week. Here's what to know.

News release from Town of Barnstable.

(HYANNIS, MA – February 22, 2024) The Town of Barnstable’s contractor, RJV Construction Corporation, continues to advance in-road sewer construction related to the 725 Main Street Sewer Pump Station Project. Starting Monday, February 26, 2024, a single-direction detour will be required for eastbound traffic on Main Street, Hyannis, from the West End Rotary to Sea Street Extension. Westbound traffic will be maintained, and Stevens Street will remain open and accessible. Work will continue Monday through Friday, from approximately 8:30AM to 5:00PM, weather permitting.

Additional traffic control assets will be onsite, specifically within the vicinity of the North Street and Stevens Street intersection and the Main Street and Stevens Street intersection, to accommodate increased traffic flow. Local resident and emergency access will be maintained. Businesses will remain open and accessible throughout construction.
