Hyannis Man Accused Of Child Rape, Strangling Woman
Prosecutors said Jaime Silva, 54, of Hyannis, raped a child and strangled a woman.
BARNSTABLE, MA — A Hyannis man accused of raping a child and strangling a woman pleaded not guilty in Barnstable Superior Court Tuesday. Jaime Silva, 54, was charged with seven counts each of aggravated rape of a child and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. In a separate case, Silva was also charged with strangulation, witness intimidation and assault and battery, the Cape Cod Times reported.
Police said the incidents occurred July 7 and 24 in Hyannis. Because of the matter of the child rape charges, no further details were made available. Police said the strangulation happened July 7, and Silva grabbed a woman by the throat, pinned her against the wall and then threatened to kill her and take her children away.
