Hyannis Man Charged With Fentanyl Trafficking After DEA Investigation

A SWAT team search resulted in the seizure of nearly 40 grams of fentanyl and fake Oxycodone pills, police said.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A Hyannis man is facing fentanyl trafficking charges after a lengthy Drug Enforcement Administration and Barnstable police investigation, officials said.

Richard Fraga, 32, of Hyannis, was hit with possession with intent to distribute charges in addition to the aforementioned trafficking charge on Tuesday. He's scheduled to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Wednesday.

Members of the Cape Cod Regional SWAT Team, Barnstable Patrol Force, Yarmouth Police Department, and Dennis Police Department assisted in the execution of the search warrant on Tuesday. Barnstable Police K-9 Yvonne was deployed to assist in the search of the premises.

The search resulted in the seizure of 39 grams of fentanyl which included "a large number" of fake Oxycodone pills, five grams of MDA and cash.
