Hyannis Man Charged With OUI After Fiery Crash
Police said the 32-year-old nearly hit a police cruiser head-on before crashing into the woods.
HYANNIS, MA — A Hyannis man was charged with drunken driving after crashing his car and fleeing officers on foot Tuesday night, according to reports. Officers attempted to stop a wrong-way car after it nearly collided head-on with a police cruiser in the area of St. Francis Circle around 10:30 p.m., police told WPRI.
The car crashed into the woods and caught fire, according to reports. The driver, 32-year-old Michael Gregoire, fled on foot but got stuck climbing a fence, police said.
Gregoire was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, operating to endanger, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, operating with a revoked license and failure to stop for police.
