Hyannis Sports Authority Likely Closing

The Hyannis Sports Authority is likely closing as the company completes the bankruptcy process.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Sports Authority will likely shutter all of its 450 stores as it completes the bankruptcy process.

The company recently told the U.S. Bankruptcy Court it will pursue a sale, meaning all its stores will likely close in the coming months, according to Fortune.

Sports Authority has a dozen Massachusetts stores, including one in Hyannis.

The Colorado-based sporting gear chain has been hurt by competition from Amazon and Dick’s Sporting Goods over the last several years.
