Hyannis Undercover Drug Sting: 3 Arrested; Cocaine Seized

Barnstable police said they arrested Nicholas Campbell,​ Russhane Campbell and Leon Knight during a drug raid in Hyannis Monday.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Three suspects were arrested and cocaine was seized in a drug raid in Hyannis Monday, according to police. Nicholas Campbell, 21; Russhane Campbell, 26; and Leon Knight, 23; all of Hyannis, were charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute following the raid on Terry Court. Police said they found cocaine, suboxone and Adderall in the residence.

Barnstable police said the arrests were the result of an undercover investigation involving controlled purchases and "extensive surveillance." Police said the investigation was bolstered by reports from concerned citizens in the area. (Sign up for free daily newsletters and breaking news alerts from Massachusetts Patch sites.)

Police said they conducted the raid Monday at about 1 p.m. and found eight people at the residence.

"During a search of the residence, detectives located and seized 32 individually wrapped bags of crack cocaine weighing approximately 15 grams and a small amount of powdered cocaine," Barnstable police said in a statement. "Detectives also located a large amount of narcotics packaging materials, including digital scales, and $4700.00 in US Currency."

Nicholas Campbell was held on $4,000 bail, Russhane Campbell was held on $40 bail and Knight was held without bail due to a previous warrant out of Orleans District Court for breaking and entering, police said.

It was the second Hyannis drug raid in as many weeks. Last week, Barnstable and Yarmouth police teamed up to arrest three suspects accused of dealing cocaine.
