Hyannis West Elementary has a New Principal
Fourth grade teacher Kathy Amato has been chosen as the new principal of Hyannis West Elementary.

Kathy Amato has been selected as the new principal of the Hyannis West Elementary School.
Amato has past experience at Hyannis West and currently works as a fourth grade teacher at the Barnstable Horace Mann Charter School. According to superintendent Patricia Grenier, one of Amato’s most significant growth experiences may have been when she left Hyannis West School.
Amato has since been exposed to several different leadership styles which helps make her an ideal fit for the position.

Amato was one of many competitive candidates interviewed for the job. She has no prior experience as a school principal, however her “passion and commitment” may have been more influential than anything she could have had on her resume.
“There is something about her passion and her commitment to that school that made up for her lack of experience in the role,” remarked superintendent Grenier.

According to Grenier the staff of Hyannis West is ecstatic about the decision. The superintendent has already received a thank you email from one very happy Hyannis West staff member.
“The school is excited,” said Grenier.
