Prosecutors said Cristina Femine, of Hyannis, faces up to 20 years in prison for trying to smuggle cocaine from Jamaica.

SPRINGFIELD, MA — A woman from Hyannis faces up to 20 years in prison on charges she tried to smuggle cocaine into the United States from Jamaica. Cristina Femine, 27, was arraigned last week in federal court in Springfield "for her role in a scheme to traffic cocaine into the United States," said Acting U.S. Attorney William Weinreb in a statement. She was arrested in Maine October 23 and charged with conspiracy to import cocaine and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
"According to the indictment Delle Femine conspired in May 2017 to import cocaine from Jamaica into the United States and conspired to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute," Weinreb said in a statement.
Homeland Security agents investigated the case. Femine faces up to 20 years prison, up to a lifetime supervised release and a $1 million fine.
