Karyn Polito, Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor, was at the 5th Annual Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen on Saturday, a motorcycle ride in honor of Cape Cod’s Fallen Warriors. The ride is organized in memory of Corporal Nicholas Xiarhos, a United States Marine killed in combat in Helmand Province in Southern Afghanistan on July 23, 2009 while going to the rescue of his fellow Marines.
Proceeds from the ride benefit the Nicholas G. XiarhosMemorial Fund which is designed to support local military families in need of financial assistance, wounded warriors and their families. In addition, the fund supports numerous local scholarships, programs and organizations supporting our military, our veterans and their families.
“Our military men and women deserve our thanks and gratitude every Those who make the ultimate sacrifice like Nick Xiarhos remain in our hearts and prayers always,” said Karyn. “The friends and family members of our fallen heroes who have turned their grief into good are heroes too and it was an honor to spend time with them today.”
