Karyn Polito meets with voters and visits Drug Court in Barnstable

Karyn Polito enjoyed an early-season afternoon in the area, visiting with residents at the Barnstable Market before going to Drug Court and learning about the great work being done by BAND (Barnstable Action for New Directions). BAND has been highly successful at reducing drug use and recidivism among substance abusers by providing positive support in the community. Karyn was impressed with the program and results, saying "it's another great example of an innovative community program with proven results that should be replicated statewide. Drug abuse is skyrocketing — particularly heroin abuse — and we need more effective programs like BAND to combat abuse and addiction."
