At Least 11 Great White Sharks Spotted In Cape Cod Bay
A Cape Cod beach was briefly closed Tuesday after a shark was seen 40 yards offshore.
CAPE COD BAY, MA — A great white shark was seen about 40 yards off Marconi Beach in Wellfleet Tuesday afternoon, according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy's Sharktivity app. The beach was closed to swimmers for about an hour, an official told the Boston Globe.
On Monday, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy tagged its first great white sharks of the season. The sharks were tagged in Cape Cod Bay.
At least 11 white sharks were spotted by the research team, which visited Cape Cod Bay for the second time this season, the Conservancy said.

The tagged sharks were 9 feet and 10 feet long.
