Limited Damage Found After Fire At Barnstable County Building
A fire was quickly extinguished at the Barnstable County Registry of Deeds and Probate building this week.
BARNSTABLE, MA — A Monday fire at the Barnstable County Registry of Deeds and Probate building was quickly extinguished, causing minimal damage, fire officials said.
The Barnstable Fire Department responded to the building around 1:30 p.m. on Monday. When officials arrived they found a "light smoke condition" coming off the roof. That prompted officials to call in additional aid, and a fire was discovered in an accessory building.
That fire was quickly extinguished and overhauled to look for fire extension. Officials said the accessory building houses the generator for the main building, and the damage was limited to that structure.
