Lost Dog Helps Police Patrol Cape Cod Streets
Officer Jack Russell retired Monday after a happy reunion with his owners.

ORLEANS, MA – Officer Jack Russell retired Monday after a storied career with the Orleans Police Department. The grizzled K-9 cop with a nose for sniffing out criminals helped Animal Control Officer Duane Boucher patrol the Orleans streets after Boucher found him near the Pump House Surf Shop on Rt. 6A.
Russell's law enforcement career was cut short by a happy reunion with his owners. It turns out he was going by an alias – his real name was Rocco and he slipped out of his collar, his owner wrote on the Orleans Police Department Facebook page.
Boucher said Rocco was the best partner he ever had.
