Thomas Latanowich, awaiting trial in the death of Sgt. Sean Gannon, was arraigned on new charges last week.

BOURNE, MA – The man accused of fatally shooting Yarmouth K-9 Sgt. Sean Gannon is facing new charges in connection with an attack on another inmate at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility in Bourne. Thomas Latanowich, 30, was arraigned last week on charges of assault to maim and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Latanowich is accused of altering a shaving razor and using it to slice a two-inch cut on the face and left ear of another inmate. The attack happened on Nov. 10 and began as a fist fight between the two inmates, according to the Barnstable Sheriff's Office.
Surveillance video shows Latanowich pulling a small, straight-edged razor from his waistband and using it to slash the other man, the sheriff's office said.
