Man Overdoses While Pushing Baby In Carriage On Cape Cod: Police

He was face down on the ground with the baby crying nearby, police said.

YARMOUTH, MA – A man overdosed while pushing an infant in a baby carriage on Cape Cod Monday afternoon, police said. First responders in West Yarmouth responded to Coolidge Road at 4:13 p.m. for a report of a person face down on the ground with a baby crying in a nearby carriage.

The man regained consciousness after an apparent drug overdose and declined medical treatment, according to police. He was placed in protective custody and taken to Cape Cod Hospital.

The baby's mother was notified, and officers filed an emergency 51A report with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, police said.
