Man Pulled From Water Off Cape Cod ID'd
The CTO of a North Shore biotech company was found near his capsized boat Wednesday.
CHATHAM, MA – Authorities on Thursday identified a man found dead near his capsized boat this week. Louis Guarracina, 44, of Newburyport, was found off Chatham around 11:24 a.m. Wednesday. He was later pronounced dead.
Guarracina, the co-founder and chief technology officer of Beverly-based biotech company HighRes Solutions, was a passionate fisherman, the company's CEO told the Cape Cod Times. He holds 11 patents and was a "spectacular innovator," CEO Peter Harris added.
Officials believe Guarracina's death was accidental. The north inlet, where he was found, is known for being a dangerous spot, according to the Times.
