Mayflower Beach Drowning Victim ID'd

The drowning is the fourth in Massachusetts since Wednesday.

DENNIS, MA – The Cape and Islands District Attorney's office has identified the victim of Thursday's drowning at Mayflower Beach in Dennis. Authorities say 60-year-old Matthew Maderios, of Fall River, was pulled from the water around 4 p.m.

Lifeguards brought Maderios to shore, where a lifeguard and a police officer performed CPR. He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the drowning, which is the fourth in Massachusetts since Wednesday.
