Member Of Cape Cod Drug Trafficking Organization Sentenced

The 46-year-old Harwich man pleaded guilty in 2017 to his role in a fentanyl, cocaine and heroin ring on the Cape.

HARWICH, MA – A Harwich man was sentenced in federal court last week for his role in a drug trafficking organization on Cape Cod, the U.S. Attorney's office said. Dean Viprino, 46, pleaded guilty in December 2017 to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl.

Viprino was part of an organization that dealt large amounts of fentanyl, cocaine and heroin on Cape Cod, the USAO said. Investigators intercepted phone calls and text messages from the organization from April to August 2017, according to the USAO.

Surveillance and drug busts showed that Viprino bought fentanyl from the organization for personal use and distribution. Other members of the ring are either pending trial or awaiting sentencing, the USAO said.
