Cape Cod Cranberry Bog Used For Meth Lab: Police
Stewart Catchings set up a meth lab at an old cranberry bog near Cape Cod Hospital then fled on a bicycle during a raid, police said.
YARMOUTH, MA — A homeless man set up a makeshift methamphetamine lab near an old cranberry bog in Yarmouth, according to police.
Stewart Catchings, 31, was arrested as he attempted to flee the scene on a bicycle as agents raided the site off Bayview Street Friday, according to Yarmouth police. He was charged with meth possession with intent to distribute.
Catchings is "well-known" to Cape Cod law enforcement, police said. He was held on $10,000 bail pending an arraignment.

Police said Catchings set up a "shake and bake" meth lab in two tents. Officers said they found propane tanks, burners, lye, and muriatic acid, among other items.
Police said Catchings told officers he's a "safe cook."
