Massachusetts Lacks Investigative Journalism

We owe much of the country divided to the news media only reporting one side of the news. How has the media has lost its way ?

The media are the watchdogs of all three branches and has failed to inform the public about good and bad.

There are three branches of government which are executive, legislative and judicial. The media must tell the people what the three branches of government are doing.

The Massachusetts news media has NO system of checks and balances that keeps people informed. As a matter of fact they have a system in place reporting news through omission.

Local media has kept the public ill informed over the New Bedford Marine ocean wind turbine port and what our elected officials are doing. The port has been renamed on a weekly basis to confuse the public and keep the facts about the ongoing fiasco from the general public.

The news media today produces news stories by omission . They simply leave out what they don’t want you to know.

The news media has signed onto the Massachusetts Green Energy “Agenda” of 2000 megawatts of renewable energy by 2020 at any cost to the citizens of Massachusetts. The cost is your health and tax dollars being poured out the back door of Beacon Hill. Most recently into New Bedford Harbor.

The executive branch of Massachusetts government decided in 2010 to build an ocean wind turbine port in New Bedford for 35 million. The port had already been built and permitted at Quonset Point, Rhode Island. Massachusetts officials from the executive office testified to state bonding committees they were 100 percent sure Cape Wind would construct and assemble their wind turbines in New Bedford. Cape Wind still today has NO federal permit to construct and assemble turbines in New Bedfrod .

How were officials 100 percent sure Cape Wind would build and assemble wind turbines in New Bedford ? They knew Cape Wind has been in litigation for over ten years and had NO permits to use New Bedfrod Harbor.

Folks, Today the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center admits the project has missed the target date which is today December 2014. The MassCEC admits the project has gone well over 100 million and refuses to admit when the project will be complete. The MassCEC is the owner of the New Bedfrod ocean wind turbine port or what ever they call it this week or next week and has been using renewable energy tax money and state bonds to continue the fiasco. Your money.

The project is a catastrophic financial fiasco. The MassCEC now states the project is going into “phase two.” The rail road link is almost a mile away. The hurricane gate only has an opening of 150 feet but only a “legal” clearance of 120 feet. The channel outside the hurricane gates hasn’t been dredged for decades and can only attain the 30 foot draft at high tide.
An AM radio station still sits tight in the middle of the port taking up 4 acres of land. “Phase two” could take until 2016 and how much more ? Like the Big Dig maybe a billion ? That’s B like in Billion !
Why won’t you read this in the newspaper ? Because everyone involved in the project is embarrassed. Politicians, contractors ,state and federal agencies including those whose political sympathies are aligned with the Massachusetts state “Agenda” of 2000 megawatts of renewable energy by the year 2020.

Massachusetts has been increasingly enacting laws mandating the loss of your health, property rights and your financial well being. We are counting on the news media to conduct and review the New Bedford Marine Ocean Wind Commerce Terminal.

Where has Attorney General Martha Coakley and the Massachusetts Inspector General been ? They are part of the “Agenda”

Recently a local newspaper endorsed Charlie Baker (R) for governor then almost the next day produced an editorial about their political sympathies.

Local newspaper :
“Our political sympathies are in general much more aligned with the progressive policies of the Democratic Party, both nationally and statewide.”
