Ocean Street To Be Detoured In Hyannis

HYANNIS, MA — Ocean Street will be detoured on Thursday as a contractor for Barnstable will be performing a test pit within the roadway of Ocean Street in preparation for future utility work anticipated in April.

As a result, Ocean Street, from Old Colony Road to Bay Street will be closed to thru traffic, as shown in the map below. Work is expected to take one day to complete, officials said.

Road closures with posted detours will be in place, along with police details to assist in directing traffic.

"As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas, and follow posted safety and detour signs," officials said.
