Osterville Recreation Building To Be Demolished, Permanently Closed

The tennis courts, ballfield and playground will remain open during demolition, which is expected to take a "few months" to complete.

OSTERVILLE, MA — The Osterville Recreation Building is now permanently closed, with a demolition next on the docket.

Barnstable officials notified the public over the weekend that the building at 93 West Bay Rd., in Osterville, will not reopen. Demolition work is on the schedule and is expected to take a "few months" to complete.

The tennis courts, ballfield and playground will remain open during the demolition, but parking for the tennis courts will be affected, officials said.

"The contractor is working with the Town to keep as many parking spaces open as possible and will open and close additional spaces as construction warrants," Barnstable officials said. "Please observe all temporary fences, barricades and signs for your safety."
