Police Bring Family, Dog To Safety From Hyannis Fire

BARNSTABLE, MA — While working Friday to clamp down on aggressive driving along Lincoln Road, Barnstable police responded to the report of a house fire at 14 Elis Drive, Hyannis.

Moments after the 6:45 p.m. call, Officer Thomas Corbett and Officer Erik McNeice arrived at the scene and saw flames and smoke coming from the home, according to a statement later that night.

Both officers entered the home, brought the residents to safety – including the family’s pet dog, Scooby, 1 1/2, who was later reunited with his owner by Corbett.
