Ring Lost On Cape Cod Nearly 50 Years Ago Recovered
The Cape Cod Times reported a man scanning a Cape Cod beach with a metal detector recently found a ring lost in 1970.
DENNIS, MA — A ring lost nearly 50 years ago on a Cape Cod beach was recently found and returned to its owner, according to the Cape Cod Times. The newspaper reported in July, a man scanning a Dennis beach with a metal detector found the ring, a 1969 Manhattan College class ring that belongs to Patrick O’Hagan of New York. The ring was inscribed with O'Hagan's name and the metal detector enthusiast was able to track him down and return it, according to the Times.
O'Hagan lost the ring while swimming on the Cape in 1970. O'Hagan's wife told the newspaper he was "thrilled" to get his ring back.
