Roadwork: Route 149 Bridge In Barnstable Getting New Barriers
Construction on the bridge is expected to last 22 months. Expect some delays.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Construction will start soon on the Route 149 bridge that crosses over Route 6, to replace the bridges barriers, officials with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said (MassDOT).
SPS New England Inc. will oversee the project, which includes installing temporary construction signage, selective clearing, staged removal and replacement of the bridge barriers and end posts, and bridge road pavement.
Officials said construction will start 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on weekdays, beginning Monday, Sept. 13.

Lane shifts will be staged during construction, and two-way traffic will be maintained throughout
Construction is expected to last 22 months.
Motorists should still expect some delays, slow down and exercise caution when driving through the construction area. Follow all posted safety and detour signs.
