Call it seal 1, great white shark 0.

Researchers on Monday captured dramatic footage of a great white shark hunting a seal near Monomoy Island. Spoiler alert: the seal escaped—this time.

So far this summer it’s been a typical shark season on Cape Cod. There have been no attacks on humans; the last was in 2012 when a man was bit on the leg off the coast of Truro.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, which captured the seal footage Monday, has been tracking the sharks all summer. Recently, 17 great whites were spotted near Chatham.
